Let us integrate digital media into your classroom.
Steeltown Film Academy partners with schools and organizations to provide the opportunity for students to become digital storytellers while learning the basics of filmmaking. Our curriculum is hands-on and team oriented, teaching filmmaking and interpersonal skills.
We’ve reached students in over 75 Pittsburgh neighborhoods through the Steeltown Film Academy. Some of the schools and organizations we’ve partnered with include:
- Propel Schools
- The YMCA Lighthouse Program at Westinghouse High School
- Perry Traditional Academy
- Hilltop Men’s Group
- Center that Cares
- Milliones University Preparatory High School
Hear from Our Teaching Artists
I’ve been a Steeltown teaching artist for eight years. I’ve been so impressed by the growth and development of students in our Youth & Media program.
I’m hopeful for the next generation of up and coming filmmakers. I’ve seen the enthusiasm, work ethic, creativity and desire to collaborate that is necessary to be successful in the film and television industry.Kris Veenis
