Pitt to host invitation only world premiere screening of new documentary: "The Shot Felt 'Round the World"
On April 14, Pitt Chancellor Mark A. Nordenberg and Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs Robert Hill will cohost a by-invitation-only world-premiere screening of a new film documentary, “The Shot Felt ‘Round the World”, produced by Pitt Film Studies Program faculty member Carl Kurlander.
The documentary tells the story of the Pitt research team and the Pittsburgh community’s roles in the creation of Jonas Salk’s polio vaccine. The event celebrates the 55th anniversary of the vaccine being affirmed as “safe, effective, and potent.”
