On Saturday, September 6, 2008 Women in Film and Media will be holding their secpmd annual Opal Awards event at One Oxford Center in downtown Pittsburgh.

This year's event will be honoring Melissa Martin, Director/Producer of the Bread M Sweet and WIFM PSA for Women and Girls Foundation; Anita Harnish, Director/Producer of the Cribs for Kids PSA and Donna Belajac, film and television casting director.

WIFM will also honor a local woman in television who has been nominated by her peers in the industry. In addition, WIFM will present a $1,500 scholarship to a local student who is pursuing an education in film and/or television.

VIP guests will enjoy gifts bags filled with tokens from organizations affiliated with the film and television industry as well as local companies.

Raffle prizes, silent auctions items, excellent food and beverages will make the event spectacular in a fabulous environment.

Tickets will go on sale beginning in August for the event through Pro-Arts tickets.
