Casting Call for Short Film 'Tommy and Me'
The film is Tommy and Me. And Ray needs some EXTRAS.
My story, short film, takes place in the Strip and is one of ten neighborhood stories that will be released as a feature film in the fall.
The story shows the compassion of the people, merchants in the Strip for an elderly homeless guy named Tommy, who is befriended by a young guy who works at Mike's Stuff (Mike Feinberg's). In the story, Tommy, who has a great white beard, is nicknamed Steelers Santa and becomes an icon of the Steelers Nation. The story unfolds from there...
My film is dedicated to Operation Safety Net who help care for the homeless inPittsburgh. We're shooting Sat., Sun., and Monday, Aug. 9, 10, and 11.
The Steelers have been generous. They've given us permission to shoot on location at Heinz Field. There is a short scene during a game with a message on the scoreboard. Here's how you can help.
SAT. AUG. 9, AFTERNOON:
WE NEED EXTRAS AT HEINZ FIELD. Everyone is welcome, and we're going to fill up one section of Heinz Field with cheering Steelers fans. All ages, shapes, sizes of friends, families and neighbors are welcome. There is no pay, but afterwards, we'll have a BYO tailgate in the parking lot of the Firehouse, 23rd and Penn Ave.
But IN ADVANCE, Ray needs your name, and you need information of where to go, how to dress (lots of black and gold), where to park (free) and exact time (early afternoon). Contact Ray at raywerner@mac.com or check the blog: tommyandme.com.
SUN., AUG 10, MORNING, IN THE STRIP:
We need loads of extras as customers at Mike Feinberg's on Penn Avenue and 18th. Again, email Ray or check the blog.
It's a great cause, you'll have some fun, and you'll be part of a Pittsburgh 250 project.
Please conatact Ray at 412-363-2273 if you have any questions.
