The Sun is Rising on Third Annual Silk Screen Asian American Festival
Silk Screen Asian American Film Festival returns May 9-18 2008 to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to celebrate the rich tapestry of Asia and Asian American culture through the work of Asian and Asian American Filmmakers.
The third annual Silk Screen Asian American Film Festival runs from May 9-18 2008. This year’s festival once again will put the international spotlight on the city of Pittsburgh as it will showcase more than 20 films in multiple venues produced and directed by Asian and Asian American filmmakers.
Films will be screened at various venues around the Pittsburgh area and each film will tell a unique yet universally appealing story of human emotion, joy, and/or drama told through the lens of Asia and Asian Americans.
This years festival will kick off with a red carpet gala on May 9th at Bossa Nova, 121 Seventh Street, 6th Floor, in downtown Pittsburgh.
Many films being screened at this year’s festival have won numerous awards and many filmmakers are scheduled for special presentations that include question and answer sessions with auidiences.
