Meet Hollywood's Creature Creators 'In The Flesh'
Just in time for the Halloween season, on October 26, 2007, Hollywood special effects wizard and Pittsburgh native Greg Nicotero, and his longtime friend and original mentor, actor/special effects artist Tom Savini (GRINDHOUSE, LAND OF THE DEAD), will talk about their craft and showcase some of their amazing Hollywood creatures “in the flesh.”
Ever wonder what it might be like to work with Hollywood directors Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, M. Night Shyamalan, and Sam Raimi? Hollywood special effects wizard and Pittsburgh native GREG NICOTERO knows.
The presentation will take place at 4:00pm in room 324 of the Cathedral of Learning on the University of Pittsburgh campus.
This event will be followed by a special free screening of the movie, R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour: “DON’T THINK ABOUT IT,” at 7:00 PM at the Frick Fine Arts Building on the University of Pittsburgh campus.
Greg Nicotero is a multiple-award winning special effects artist, who has worked on over 100 films in his career. His company KNB Efx Group” won the Academy Award in 2006 for the creations in THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA.
Greg will talk about his career from working in Pittsburgh on George Romero films to his work on some of the biggest films of the last twenty years, including: SPIDERMAN 3, PULP FICTION, KILL BILL, SIN CITY, SCREAM, TRANSFORMERS, DANCES WITH WOLVES, MINORITY REPORT, RAY, BOOGIE NIGHTS, and many others.
